- Reorganize and clarify the entire article, so it is easier to understand and use.
- Make administering leaves less complicated, confusing, and irregular—ensuring that faculty do not lose money and opportunities unnecessarily.

- Include domestic partners under family medical leave provisions.
- Make explicit how leaves can “stop the tenure clock” and guarantee this right to new parents.
- Mandate payment to departments to temporarily replace faculty on leave.
