  • Reorganize and clarify the entire article, so it is easier to understand and use; reduce cumbersome bureaucracy.
  • Make grievable any violation of University rules, written policies, or department/college bylaws.
  • Provide a much longer and fairer deadline before faculty lose the right to file a grievance.
  • Mandate better procedures for resolving grievances informally.
  • Have grievances cases heard by a faculty panel instead of panels composed only of administrators.
  • Make it easier and faster to adjudicate actions that violate the rights of two or more faculty members.
  • Remove procedural inequities and give the arbitrator more latitude to remedy damages to faculty.
  • Ensure that remedies of grievances are implemented promptly and efficiently.
  • Guarantee that there can be no reprisals against faculty participating in the grievance process.
